Total Quality Management in Pharmaceutical Industry

Total Quality Management (TQM) is an important part of a pharmaceutical industry. It is a quality framework based on the belief that the organization can ensure a long-term success by having all its members, from top to bottom, focus on continuous improving quality and, thus, delivering customer satisfaction.

The below points summarise the Total Quality Management (TQM) - It's all about the people!

1) Empower your personnel to take responsibility for what they do. Make them feel valued;

2) Involve the shop floor personnel to create the user requirement specification so you get exactly what you need;

3) Use validated systems that interface with other systems within the organization for seamless information transfer, security, accuracy of data and storage;

4) Management and process owners to identify optimized and logical ways of working;

5) Create a culture that always thinks about the risks, work together, document that risk and find ways to mitigate it;

6) One person does not have all the answers, work with others to find a pragmatic solution that is reasonably acceptable by all;

7) There is no gain without pain and change – we need to continually evolve;

8) Quality of life matters to all of us.

To create the perfect QMS, you can follow the below six steps:

  • Plan – gap assess your business needs around your medicinal product
  • Design – Based on the structure of your business today and it’s needs for tomorrow, we map the processes that work for you
  • Develop – Our exceptional team of Quality professionals will create the documents that will become your QMS
  • Test – Every step, we will ensure it’s a workable process having trained out and trialed it with you
  • Review – We will check the output using Quality metrics
  • Release – Only then, will we be assured to hand over the QMS to you.
